Volume II, Number 3 October, 2006

Leaders enjoy communication loop closure, especially when they don't have to initiate it consistently. Resolved problems and completed projects become positive learning and affirming experiences when tasks are not only completed, their results are communicated to the people who need to know.

One of the greater challenges for leaders is teaching followers how to "close the loops." Instruction on methods is required on healthy teams and the time spent to educate members in communication technique is valuable and a high priority.

While the methods of closing loops may vary, the essential premise is this: an action is not completed until it is communicated. Healthy teams endeavor to practice this truth-all the time.
